Assorted Calvin Philosophies

Life's too darn short to waste time trying to please every meddlesome moron who's got an idea how I ought to be.

The more you know, the harder it is to take decisive action. Once you become informed, you start seeing complexities and shades of gray. You realize that nothing is as clear and simple as it first appears. Ultimately knowledge is paralyzing. Being a man of action, I can t afford to take that risk

Today at school, I tried to decide whether to cheat on my test or not. I wondered, is it better to do the right thing and fail ... or is it better to do the wrong thing and succeed? On the one hand, undeserved success gives no satisfaction ... but on the other hand, well-deserved failure gives no satisfaction either. Of course, most everybody cheats some time or other. People always bend the rules if they think they can get away with it ... then again, that doesn't justify my cheating. Then I thought, look, cheating on one little test isn't such a big deal. It doesn't hurt anyone ... but then I wondered if I was just rationalizing my unwillingness to accept the consequence of not studying. Still, in the real world, people care about success, not principles ... then again, maybe that's why the world is in such a mess. What a dilemma!

You know how Einstein got bad grades as a kid? Well, mine are even worse!

Calvin to Susie:I think girls and bugs must have a dim perception that nature has played a cruel joke on them, but they lack the intellect to comprehend the magnitude of it.

What assurance do I have that your parenting isn't screwing me up?

If ignorance is bliss, this lesson would appear to be a deliberate attempt on your part to deprive me of happiness, the pursuit of which is my unalienable right according to the declaration of independence. I therefore assert my patriotic prerogative not to know this material. I'll be out in the playground.

I wish I was dead....well no, not really. I wish everyone ELSE was dead.

If something is so complicated that u cant explain it in 10 seconds, then it's probably not worth knowing anyway

I am a misunderstood genius ... no one thinks that I am genius.

what is the importance of the erie canal? A: In the cosmic sense, probably nill.

wow! U like calvin and hobbes too! Hehehe probably the best ever comic strip there is. Pity waterson decided to stop drawing. I read somewhere its because of the pressure he was in from his agents who wants to do merchandising and he disliked it. But he did come ut with books and collection strips. This September there will be an ultimate calvin and hobbes collection book worth USD150.

And i read somewhere there might be a chance for a C&H cartoon.
